Pacific Drive
Pacific Drive Game: A Love-Hate Relationship on the Open Road
Pacific Drive throws you behind the wheel of a beat-up station wagon in the unsettling Pacific Northwest. It’s a unique blend of survival, exploration, and cosmic horror, leaving you with a memorable, if sometimes frustrating, experience.
The Deal: Escape the ever-shifting “Zone” by venturing out, gathering resources, upgrading your car, and unraveling the secrets of this strange place. Be warned, death is permanent (you lose everything you’re carrying) and the Zone itself actively tries to push you off the road.
Pacific Drive – How to Drive It:
You’ll spend a good chunk of time looting gas stations, abandoned buildings, and other points of interest for scrap and crafting materials.
These resources are used to upgrade your car, allowing you to travel further, survive harsher environments, and better defend yourself against the Zone’s threats.
The car itself is a core part of the experience. It takes a beating and requires constant maintenance, making you feel a real connection to your trusty (or not-so-trusty) vehicle.
Where to Take a Ride on Pacific Drive
Pacific Drive is currently available for PC on Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox and online.
Strap In, But Be Prepared for a Bumpy Ride
Pacific Drive is a challenging game with a steep learning curve. While some find the exploration and sense of progression rewarding, others criticize the punishing difficulty and repetitive crafting loop. If you’re looking for a relaxing experience, this might not be it. But for those who enjoy a good struggle and a unique atmosphere, Pacific Drive offers a compelling, albeit bumpy, road trip.
